We meet on Wednesday nights for a devotion time and then break into girl/guy groups for discussion and prayer. On Sunday nights, we meet for our regular youth group meeting with games, worship, an interactive lesson, and snacks.
Once a month, we attend the Hub student ministries, a ministry started by Ralph (Williams) and I, to provide a large youth event for small youth groups in the area. We have several small youth groups that attend each month and look forward to “So you think you can sing?” Karaoke night in May.
Throughout the year we take our kids snow skiing in West Virginia, Camp Suwannee summer camps and Rock the Universe. We also do bowling, laser tag, movie nights, Busch gardens, Adventure Islands, sleepovers, and cookouts throughout the year.
Recently, we started our Impact Team—a leadership team that helps with planning and setting up for events. We have several small groups that have started since camp last summer. Experiencing God has been the most used material.
Our youth is very involved in the life of our church. They are a part of our Sunday morning worship band, they help run sound, they run our media shout, they help with Children’s ministry, they do puppets, the help teach classes and lead at VBS. Often when the pastor is out of town is when we have Youth Sundays where they lead in the music and drama. We’ve even had a few of our teens preach a sermon in the last few years.
